Hobbiton

Hobbiton, is the original movie set from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit -  JRR Tolkien.
Beautiful, green  hills. Hobbit houses, like dollhouses. No pylons, power lines and no shadow of modernity.
Not only Tolkien fans will be delighted :-)

Hobbiton Welcome To

Peter  Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings,   chose this place for the adaptation of Tolkien's trilogy because it captivated him  the beauty and naturalness of this place.
These were sheep pastures, untainted by the gains of civilization.
And this place still delights, despite the fact that for the purposes of the film there is much, but also fairy-tale,  changed.

Hobbits' houses

The cabins are mini-scale, and they are actually  building facades. It is impossible to open the door or go inside.
But the precision of these houses and the film props that surround them is absolutely astonishing.
Everything is perfect miniatures, with perfect proportions and  with real colors.
You can feel here like in the land of dwarfs. But  above all  feel  magic  cinema.

House Bilbo  Baggins

Bilbo Baggins' house is the only house that is not only a façade, but that you can enter.
Unfortunately, it is not open to all visitors. It is reserved only  for group events :-(.

Shire Heights

It is enough to come to Hobbiton to understand why Peter Jackson chose this place for the adaptation of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
Green hills, no signs of civilization (poles, electric lines, streets, roads), pure nature.
And the New Zealand colors of nature. There is a different clarity of the air here. The colors are more essential, transparent. It is fabulous.

The magic of movie props

The magic of Hobbiton movie props is amazing. Every detail, proportion and colors match. The world in miniature, but in movies and photos it looks natural. Only here we realize that this is an illusion. Perfect illusion.
