Wai-O-Tapu
Hot springs in fairy-tale colors. It is hard to believe that such beautiful colors exist in nature.
The sightseeing route is not very long, but very interestingly organized.
In the park, you can also watch a geyser eruption show, or rather a geyser Lady Knox.
Hot Springs
It takes about 0.5 hours to complete the entire route. You walk among the hot springs which are beautifully colored.
Lady Knox geyser
A separate attraction in Wai-O-Tapu is a show of the eruption of a small geyser called Lady Knox. Tickets for this attraction are purchased separately and the geyser itself is located outside the geothermal park. The geyser show is once a day. The animator who leads it puts soap into the geyser, which activates it. As a result, a fountain of water shoots from the geyser. The entire show lasts approx. 20 minutes.
Mud pool
Just before entering the Wai-O-Tapu area, follow the signpost to the Mud Pool, which is a mud pool. But a mud bath do not plan here, because the temperature of the mud is over 100 degrees.
