Kings Canyon
Kings Canyon is the largest canyon in Australia and one of the most popular attractions. The canyon walls are about 100 meters high. There are 4 here Walking routes are of varying difficulty and length, so everyone will find something suitable for themselves.
In summer (December-January) it is extremely hot, so you must come back from each trip by 11:00. So be prepared to wake up early.
Kings Canyon Rim Walk and Kings Creek Walk.
Kings Canyon Rim Walk
This is a 6-kilometer trail that begins with a steep but short ascent to Heartbreak Hill. Further on, the route leads along the ridge of the gorge, providing beautiful views. The entire trail can be walked in approx. 3-4 hours.
Kings Creek Walk
2 km long trail leading through the bottom of the ravine. At the end of the road there is a viewing platform surrounded by the steep canyon walls. Approximate walking time to the viewing platform and back is approx. 1 hour.
Giles Track and South Wall Return Walk
Giles Track
A 22 kilometer route from Kings Canion to Kathleen Springs, which takes 1-2 days one way.
South Wall Return Walk
The route is 4.8 km long and it takes about 2 hours to go both ways. It starts with a demanding climb and then leads to the viewpoint from which you will head back to the parking lot. It is not possible to go to Kings Canyon Rim Walk from this route.
Camping
Great campsite. WITH great swimming pool, wild dingo dogs, beautiful birds and a nice eatery :-)
