Kangaroo Island

A wonderful island inhabited mainly by kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. There are so many animals that you can enjoy the sight of them at will. Even at the campground, they would come to the door of our motorhome.

Seal Bay Conservation Park

It was the first point we visited on the island. The seal kingdom beach is entered with a guide. The main point, of course, is that people do not get too close to animals :-). But by the way, the guide interestingly tells about the habits of these nice and not at all lazy animals.

Kangaroo Island Wildlife park

Wildlife Park is famous for its ubiquitous animals. There are plenty of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies. You can also meet echidnas, snakes, wombats. Besides, it is  many walking places for the less and more demanding.

Remarkable Rocks

Interesting and nico dangerous viewpoint over the Pacific Ocean.
The beautiful colors of turquoise water in combination with the rusty color of the rocks make an amazing impression. This stunning work of nature was shaped over 500 million years.   by erosive forces of wind, sea fog and rain.

Cape du couedic

By walking  on a wooden, very long pier, enjoying it  beautiful views of the ocean, you will come to a magical place full of seals and  truly postcard  scenery.

Hanson Bay Wildlife  Sanctuary

It was a wonderful place, full of koalas. Unfortunately, it was heavily burnt in fires at the turn of 2019/2020. Those interested can check the current situation  on page:  https://www.hansonbay.com.au

Little Sahara Sandboarding &  Toboggans

Sandboarding is going downhill, on a board, on sand.  Great fun for everyone, but for the youngest or a bit fearful there is an alternative - toboggans, i.e. plastic sledges.

 Camping

A sensational campsite also inhabited by numerous koalas, wallabies and echidna. A mother koala with her eight-month-old son lived in a tree right next to our motorhome. And in the evenings, wallabies were regular guests at our table, and once  even echidna visited us. We loved this place with all our hearts. It was a pity to leave. Unfortunately, 4 days after our departure, the camping and the surrounding park were burned to a large extent  by  extreme fire. But rumor has it that many animals were saved, incl. our neighbor - mother koala with her son. In April 2020, the camping was made available to tourists again.

location

South of the island  Melbourne. Approx. 1 hour ferry trip from Cape Jervis. It is better to book ferry tickets well in advance, especially if you are going to be a large camper.
