Hooker Valley
A beautiful valley at the foot of Mount Cook. Numerous suspension bridges, gentle slopes, beautiful views. A walk is pure relaxation.
Walking route
The walking route in the Hooker Valley is approx. 10 km long, and its passage is free, walking step takes approx. 3 hours.
Approx. 5 km you walk to the Mount Cook viewpoint and then you come back either the same route or a slightly different road. We we started sightseeing at 8:00 am when there were no other people yet, but there were bunnies. We sincerely recommend such an early walk. Returning at approx. By 11:00 we already passed a lot of visitors, and there was not even a trace of the bunnies.
View of Mount Cook
Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand (3724 m us). Walking through the Hooker Valley you can admire the snow-covered all the time the peaks of the Southern Alps, even in summer.
