Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo, known as the Crocodile Hunter's House, is located in Sunshine  Coast, approx. 70 km from Brisbane. In the zoo, in addition to classic sightseeing, z  many animals can be found directly in groups or individually. And with some animals, you can even go for a walk. How about a walk  with a tiger? :-).

Lemurs at Australia Zoo

Lemurs run freely in the garden. Sometimes they even mount the visitors resting on the benches :-).

Meeting with a wombat

A wombat is an animal that looks a bit like a giant hamster. An adult specimen is up to 1.2 m long and weighs about 40 kg. During  group  meetings  with a wombat, you can enter the wombat area in the presence of guardians. Listen to interesting stories about their habits, observe them closely, stroke them and take photos with them.
Wombat is such an Australian urchin, disliked by farmers, because his favorite game is running  with impetus (approx. 40 km / h) into the herd  of cattle, often overturning at the same time  cows and damaging their limbs.

Kangaroos and wallabies at an Australia zoo

Kangaroos and wallabies run freely over a very large area, where visitors can also stay freely. Lots of little kangaroos probably prove that kangaroos are doing very well here.

Koala at Austaralia Zoo

You can admire koalas on the eucalyptus trees growing in the zoo. You can also take pictures of yourself, even with baby koalas.

Other pets at Australia Zoo

Of course, in the zoo, in addition to the lemurs,  koalas, kangaroos and  wombats are also other animals.
There are also animal shows.
The photos show photos from the crocodile show. The size of the crocodile makes a stunning impression, but personally I wonder if the risk of the trainer is worth the effect :-(. Judge for yourself.

Australia Zoo Hospital

A touching place.

It's great that there are people who help sick and harmed animals.

When buying a ticket to Australia Zoo, you can buy a donation for a hospital and in return visit the local clinic  for animals. There you can see how animals are treated and watch films from the action of saving animals by the foundation.

We were too touched by what we saw to take pictures. So we only have two photos taken right after entering the hospital and the last one with a symbolic summary of humanity :-(.
